🌡️ HOT YOGA & FIRST-TIME QUESTIONS
What is hot yoga?
Hot yoga is a yoga practice done in a heated room, typically between 85–105°F. The warmth helps loosen muscles, increase circulation, and support mobility — but it’s always okay to move at your own pace and take breaks when needed.
Do I need to be flexible or experienced to attend?
Not at all. Toasty Asana is designed for all levels, including complete beginners. Flexibility and strength come with practice — not before it. Our instructors offer options and encourage rest whenever you need it.
What should I bring to class?
We recommend:

A yoga mat (we have some limited option to borrow if you forget)

If you forget something, don’t worry — we’ll have options available.
What if I’ve never done hot yoga before?
You are exactly who we love welcoming. First-time hot yogis are encouraged to:

There’s no pressure to keep up — your practice is your own.
Is hot yoga safe?
Hot yoga is safe for most people when practiced mindfully. However, it may not be appropriate for everyone. If you have medical conditions (including heart conditions, pregnancy, or heat sensitivity), we recommend consulting a healthcare provider before attending.
Listening to your body is always the priority.
🧘 STUDIO EXPERIENCE QUESTIONS
How early should I arrive?
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early, especially for your first class. This gives you time to check in, settle in, and acclimate to the space.
Doors may close at class start time for safety reasons.
What if I need to leave the room during class?
That’s completely okay. You are welcome to step out, take a break, or leave early if you feel unwell or overwhelmed. There is no judgment — ever.
How hot is the room, really?
Our classes are typically held between 85–105°F, depending on class style. The heat is intentional but adjustable — and instructors always encourage modifications and rest.
What should I eat before class?
A light snack 1–2 hours before class works well for most people. Avoid heavy meals right before practicing. Hydration throughout the day is more important than what you eat immediately before class.
Do I need to bring my own mat?
You’re welcome to bring your own mat, but we also have a limited number of mats available for use at the studio.
Is the room always the same temperature?
Room temperature varies slightly depending on class style, but most classes are held between 85–105°F.

How do I sign up for classes?
Classes can be reserved through our online booking system.
Simply create an account, sign your waiver, and reserve a spot in class through our schedule page.
We recommend reserving in advance, as class sizes are limited.
What is your cancellation policy?
To be fair to both students and instructors, we ask that cancellations be made at least 60 minutes before class.
Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a class deduction or fee depending on your booking type.

Do you offer memberships or class packs?
Yes! We offer several ways to practice with us:

Are there age restrictions at Toasty Asana?
Yes — students must be at least 14 years old to participate in classes at Toasty Asana.
Minors ages 14–17 are welcome with a parent or guardian waiver on file before attending class.
Because our studio is heated and hot yoga places additional demands on the body, we maintain this age minimum for safety and wellness reasons.

What is the vibe at Toasty Asana?

We believe yoga is for every body, and we’re building a space where effort matters more than perfection. No pressure — just presence.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Many students attend solo, especially at first. Our community is welcoming, and you’ll never feel out of place for showing up exactly as you are.
When is Toasty Asana opening?
Our soft launch will begin Monday April 6th, and our Grand Opening Weekend is April 17 - 19. Check out our Grand Opening page for schedule details!
What if I'm not in good shape?
You don’t need to be “in shape” to start yoga. Many people begin their yoga practice specifically to build strength, flexibility, and endurance - including our founder, Elizabeth, who started her hot yoga experience unable to touch her toes!
At Toasty Asana, you’re encouraged to move at your own pace and take breaks whenever you need them.
How big are the classes?
Our classes are intentionally kept small (max 14 people) so everyone has space to move and practice comfortably.
What if I'm nervous to try my first class?
Feeling nervous before your first yoga class - hot or not - is completely normal. Our goal is to make Toasty Asana a welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable showing up exactly as they are. Remember - your time on your mat is for you and you alone so when you're ready, we're here to support you.
