Toasty Asana Carlisle - Design Blog 004

We’re officially in Week Four of construction — and while the space still looks a little rough around the edges, there’s a whole lot of progress happening behind the scenes.

After demo ended, the construction team dived into building all the infrastructure that is going to be supporting Toasty’s operations.  Getting the HVAC systems (yes, we have multiple) reconfigured and in place, trenching so that our plumbing can get shifted, and spreading out more conduit than I think 1200 square feet ever thought it would hold in its ceiling were all critical steps to propping Toasty up for success.

I even got to join the action with a very scientific investigation into why the thermostat wasn’t working. After removing and reattaching the faceplate more times than I’d like to admit — and briefly convincing myself I had fixed it — I decided the most responsible solution was simply to replace it. It’s a small part of the overall progress — nothing compared to the expertise of the crew on site — but it made me feel like I had contributed, even in a tiny way.

This week marks a shift — from hidden infrastructure to visible transformation. Our framing inspections are going to happen this week, and then next week walls will begin to feel more final as drywall gets put up.  The flooring will be finished. Paint and lighting will start to define the mood of the space. Soon it will begin to look less like a construction site and more like the boutique studio we’ve been dreaming about.

Every trench cut into the slab and every wire pulled through the ceiling is part of building a space designed for connection, challenge, and calm via a hot yoga practice — a space that Carlisle doesn’t currently have. So, if you’ve been following along since day one, thank you.  If you’re new here, welcome.  I hope you all are enjoying seeing Toasty come to life.
